its august.. its hot.. steamy.. maybe drought.. and it donesnt have a root mass for it size...

you tree is stressed... and not being properly watered.. lawn irrigation is not wetting the root mass.. thru the entire root mass.. which i presume is at lest a foot or two below ground..

put a hose on trickle.. and put it under the tree for half a day.. moving the trickle onn the dompass poitns every other hour or so...

all that said.. ugly tree leaves is normal.. not unusual.. and requires no treatment.. the leaves will be falling off in a month or 3.. clean them up when they do...

finally.. can we see where the trunk goes int he ground.. is the root flare apparent;.. or is the tree planted too deeply... if you can see it.. pulll back the soil until it is...

personally.. i dont treat or spray ugly leaves in august.. they are already stressed enough...

I have a soil core sampler that I inserted within the mulch circle and it didn't seem as if the soil was too dry. Not sure if this picture is helpful:

With the area getting watered three times a week, I thought it might be over watered. I have a soaker bag that I can use to irrigate. Definitely seems to be doing worse. Some branches have lost all their leaves.
