Try turning the rug the other way

A rug over a rug is never recommended, especially in a nursery. The rugs make it more of a tripping hazard. The only time it might be done is if both rugs have extremely low pile. Safety needs to be the priority in this room.

I agree that the rug isn’t necessary and could be a trip hazard. If your trying to soften the floor for your baby, or just add color, perhaps just replace the wall to wall.
