Any glass business who does shower doors can do them.

You would think so but the 3 glass door companies I've checked with do not.

Not EVERYTHING you see on the internet is a great idea.

You will get just as great a look, BETTER with frameless heavy glass custom doors, matte black plumbing, a great tile, and you need at least some open air at the top to let steam escape and your bath to vent well.

Not to mention? Who shall be cleaning to nine feet . You want as high quality forever bath as possible. There's a million ways to have that and stunning....in black and white. Show your bath plan : ) Yours, not an inspo.

I should add.....the three glass companies you called? I'm actually surprised they just didn't price it so high, you'd have fainted. Because to get quality in that? They have to add a source, the source must assure your glass company the "no problem' Yup....they were smart, and they didn't take the weasel way out, and say we just don't want to bother KACHING. That's my guess lol

It only took me about a week and a half of squeegeeing to determine I should have installed a shower curtain.

One more thing in reality check

Lets say you're in a generous bath, in a generously sized home.. Great?

The shower here? 4' x 7' and it is p.l.e.n.t.y.

When you get much bigger than that? You lose the cozy, and buy yourself more tile expense, more cleaning expense. No......she never uses the tub, despite the ability to watch tv. as she soaks. That said, that bath is nine years old, and she never tires of it.

We're currently in the midst of new construction now and haven't even grouted the tile yet. My soaker tub is not in with the shower. All plumbing fixtures are champange bronze. There are separate his & hers vanities with a natural finish and black pulls. Each vanity will have a black pendant light above and a black semi flush drum light over the tub.The ceiling tile in the shower is 2" black marble hex and will be the floor of the shower as well. Yes the soaker tub will be in front of the window, you can't see in the window from outside and we'll have plantation shutters.

I am not understanding why the shower pan is NOT done? Generally first, before walls. For waterproofing insurance as wall tile will then overlap. and what is behind the walls for waterproofing?

A 14K door isnt going to work with the $1.98 tile guy.

Clearly I'm not educated in the tiling process so I wouldn't be able to answer the why's but I do know for sure there's backer board & a waterproof membrane. Our tile guy has well over 30+ yrs of experience, and came highly recommended.

Backer board isn’t waterproofing. That will need a rebuild in a couple of years, as it is going to leak.

First there needs to be aplace for steam and moisture to escape and that is why usually shower glass walls do not go to the ceiling. I think the shower door is not 77" but maybe the whole wall is. I thnk no glass company will make this go to a commercial door company that makes steel and glass doors . I think you better have afabulous house cleaner because those will make you crazy every time you shower . I agree just becuase you see it in a picture does not make it a good idea.

I'd give some thought to the final appearance. A frameless door seems a better selection with gold hardware

Agree, re think the champagne. Rather two different feelings. Not to mention, a potential fad finish.

Nobody wants to hear it, but chrome plumbing in a bath DOES tend to be "forever", last forever : ) and lets a matte black go into the accents that can be changed out in 7 - 10 years , which in design....... is an eon.

Those doors will be a giant pain for every pane.

I try to be supportive of design inspirations on Houzz, even when I disagree with them but here's a few thoughts on the black grid shower door. I saw one for the first time about four or five years ago (had to be that long ago as it was pre-covid) at a Parade of Homes house. My thought was TARDIS! Where's Dr. Who? They were all the rage that year on the Parade in several high end houses ($3M & up pre-Covid, now $5M range) and I have never seen them in the two most recent Parades or in the $4M+ houses that are being built in my neighborhood. Wonder why? Don't know but there must be a reason why they weren't embraced.

It's your house, do what you want but I personally think the black grids will detract from what you are doing with the tile, especially the ceiling and champagne bronze fixtures. All of your inspiration pics have chrome plumbing fixtures likely to not complete with the black grids. Your bath looks lovely and classy so far. Too much decor or too many statement pieces is worse than not enough. Know when to say when.

Not a tile expert but I do see the lowest row of wall tile is not in place yet. Likely that will be done after the floor so the wall will overlap the floor tile.

I’m not trying to rain on your parade but I agree with the others who are encouraging you to stick with a solid glass (yeah, plain) shower. Your tile is quite special,and you don’t want EVERYTHING to be the “the star” of the room.

You will ultimately do what you want but when so many are warning you, take heed.
