My husband and I just moved into a beautiful colonial home from the 1920s. All of the walls are plaster and have picture molding to hang pictures from, but we aren't sure how to hang curtains this way. We have hooks for the molding but the rods that we have (from our old house) are too thick to sit inside the hooks. Also, if we use wire to hang the rods from the hooks (which seems a little strange to me - it's a lot going on), the finials on the ends of the rods make it impossible to stay up. The finials (which are an average size) push the rods out and the wire can't stay on the hooks. Any ideas? Do we need smaller rods? We haven't been able to find bigger hooks. We do need the curtains to be able to move so we can draw them, otherwise we would secure the curtains to the hooks. Thanks!
