Bathroom fan timer switch suggestion

After 10 years, my bathroom fan timer switch finally stopped working.

It was an Intermatic (see photo below).

One thing I did not like about it was that it changed color over time from white to what you see in the photo.

Has anyone had good luck with another brand?

For example, Lutron makes this one which would go well with my two other rocker switches:

But I don't know whether it will last long. It looks a bit delicate due to its design.

It's more likely a lower grade plastic was used that yellows with age. My security system covers and central vac inlet ports have all yellowed with age and they are at room temp.

I agree that the color changing is annoying! In your case, I would get the Lutron one (if it is satisfactory in other ways), and replace the two switches and outlet with matching Lutrons, so they will age together. I can even see a difference in the color of the two switches!

I have been using this one for fifteen years with no problems. It’s idiot proof and readily available. The one you posted looks nice but I think it would require reading instructions to operate.

I have one similar to what you posted (different model).

I wanted to program it to hold the 30 minute preset all the time, but could not get that to work.

If we use the 30 minute timer, it sets back to that time the next time we use it.

If we set it to 15 minutes, it is set for 15 minutes the next time we use it. Very easy to change the settings. I like it and would but it again.

Does the old switch get hot? I would suspect a high resistance connection at or in the switch caused the discoloration.

These are very helpful tips and comments. I think I'm going to get the Decora Preset Resistive/Inductive 60-Minute Countdown Timer recommended by Hallett & Company. But I've not completely made up my mind yet.
