Yes its the living room, i will renovate the house and i want it to be more transitional, natural elements , probably laminate floor, more clear and simple lines.

IMO the shelves , beside FPs , are usually filled with eye clutter and honestly look bad. If you have things that really need display then you do the shelves with those things in mind. Rip out all that shelving and cabinets and see what can be done to make the FP bigger then come back withsome drawings . I really dislike TVs above FPs they are almost always too high.It looks like those shelves actually are sticking ut into the arch so you need to go shallower for shelves and not much to go on little shallow shaelves .

Hi it would be nice to see pictures of the whole room or perhaps a layout if you have one. Depending on how the room looks you might be able to put the TV on the opposite wall and keep this wall where the fireplace is less cluttered. I agree on making the fireplace bigger it could look really nice, I also agree with ripping out what you have now completely. The arch looks really nice so I would suggest that the new cabinets don't go over like they are now, but I'm not sure about the depth since I can't see that well in this picture.

I have a lot of fireplace photos saved because I am going to be refacing mine sometime next year. There are so many options. If there is a local natural stone that is popular, use that. Is this house SW style? Do you already have furniture you're going to use, or are you going to be buying new? While the fireplace should fit with anything else you have, I think the fireplace should be as trend-free as possible as it's not something you want to change very often. You can always paint built-ins if the color doesn't suit down the road.

Is the rest of your house a Spanish style? I'm looking at the big arched entry at the right of your photo and wondering if that is typical in your house..... Why do you want to put back stone veneer after taking it off? What is your idea for the flooring?

However, it appears from your photo that the cabinetry on the left actually protrudes into the room beyone the door arch. I wouldn't want to repeat that so I might be looking more towards something like this, with the TV moved into lower left cabinetry and art over the firebox
