A tiny porch has decor challenges for certain.

I wouldn’t put any decor at all (except a rug) on the floor of the porch or steps. That makes an already small space even smaller and introduces trip hazards that are hard to avoid.

A bright seasonal rug is vital. Perhaps a greenery swag hung above the door.

Then a VERY LARGE pot (or two or three) grouped in the graveled area to the right of the steps, seasonally decorated. There’s lots of ideas to be found by Googling - mix evergreen branches, very large unbreakable Christmas-colored balls, burlap ribbons, huge pinecones, etc. You could even string battery-operated Christmas lights through the greenery in each pot.

Agree with @littlebug zone 5 Missouri. Those steps are too small for the landing area. At some point consider having them redone. Maybe hang your Christmas wreath on the side wall so it can be seen when approaching the step.

Rather depends on what else if anything you decorate outside. Minimum I would want one taller large pot on the corner farthest from the steps find a large plastic light up candy cane to go in with the greenery. Red and white lights around the column. A wreath on the front door.

Pretty home in a pretty part of the country. Lucky you!

what are the odds there will be a couple feet of snow by xmas??

i would probably wind some lights on the pillar.. and be done with it ... easy clean up if there is snow at removal time...

you might also hang light form the gutter down to the base of the pillar ... create a wall of sorts...

most time i ever used pillar in one comment... lol

not sure you have enough space at foot level.. to be putting many things on the ground ....

A Christmas wreath on the front door would be great, and if you have any evergreens in your yard you could make a winter "bouquet" for a large pot for your gravel area in front of your steps (unless you plan to plant more in that area directly into the ground). In the late fall I prune various trees and shrubs (Washington Hawthorne, juniper, spruce, etc.) to make a winter bouquet for a pot that sits on our driveway between our garage doors.

I agree that one HUGE or a few very large pots would be more attractive and impactful than smaller ones. We're also in CO :)
