How do I furnish this room?

It has come to my attention room that my family is embarrassed that after 2 years in this house, the front room is still empty (I’m fine with it, all the other rooms are furnished - apparently I am supposed to be hosting big parties so need more seating!).

This room has nice east sun so I often eat breakfast or lunch here are peruse my magazines but the entry (left) leaves me with an open space I’d rather not fill. The big teak cabinet really has no other place in my home. It reluctant to get rid of it at this time. The low shelves are modular and so can be bigger or smaller but also need to stay here in this room as I have no other place. The rugs also must stay (I’m on a limited budget and these rugs were my Oma’s, date back to the 70’s, are wool and in amazing condition).

Red is probably a go-to colour in this room but I’m worried it would make the room feel heavy. The nook by the window is 60” so I am likely looking at a love seat rather than a sofa. If necessary, I could move this chair elsewhere. My taste tends to be MCM or scandi.

I plan to put photos on the wall and want a spot for the mirror (pictured on the floor). Most of the plants are not mline and will be moving back with their owner when she returns from holiday.

I have also posted the rest of the room and flow to the rest of the house for reference. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
