Beautiful home. I would get the tv out of the corner and place it on the long wall. Place the sofa opposite the tv. The two chairs can go in the window.

You have 2 options for TV placement one is where it is the other is centered on the wall with the 4 moulding panels.

If you leave it on the wall that you have it on I suggest you get a full motion wall mount so that when you are actually viewing the TV you can actually move it to the right a foot or two for viewing it'll be centered in front of the staircase. 

If you leave it there I would get rid of that tv stand as it doesn't look good pushed up on the corner like that...instead opt for something shorter and longer that can span under the stairs too more minimal or you can leave it empty

Sorry am I understanding right - there are two family rooms, this room and a large living room on the other side of the house? Where does the TV go - in this front room or the other living room?

I have a similar room layout and have placed the sofa on the wall with the molding. The two chairs can be positioned in front of the window. Place your floor lamps on both sides of your sofa. TV can stay in same location but I'd recommend a cabinet that is slighter smaller than what you have now. A good width would be one that is about 6" wider than the tv. The height of the cabinet is good but you could wall mount the tv at a slightly higher position than it is now and remove the art from above it. It's nice, so I'd find a new home for it.

I would not turn the big long wall over to nothing but the TV.

Place the sofa on the long wall and chairs as you see below.

You have perfect wall for TV! I would make it as focal point accent wall.

thank you all so much for the ideas!!! la_lagirl, yes there are basically two living rooms. both have a tv. and jo mu, i definitely agree about the tv, we bought a full motion tv mount we plan to use once i figure out where i want everything 😂

Yes, you can place the TV on the long wall but you may have to eliminate seating to provide a larger walkway behind the sofa.
