Underfloor induction for lighting

Hi Houzz,


Is it possible to install induction coils, like what are used for iDevice charging, under a 3/4" engineered wood floor?


The idea is to place these coils along the side of walls and other areas and use them to power (LED) floor lamps. I'm hoping this would reduce cable management and relieve some of the headache of planning 110/120v outlet locations.


Has anyone done anything like this?
