Is there a standard placement for electric fireplaces?

Hello! I have 20’ ft ceilings in living room. Im in the process of upgrading my fireplace to a 65” electric fireplace. My contractor is asking how high above the floor I’d like it. Is there a standard height? I love the look of this Does it look like around 12“?

I would sya pretty close to 1'. I assume the TV is going above it so at least that can be mounted at the proper viewing height if you go this install .

20 ft. ceiling seems a bit high to consider a linear fireplace.

Decide if you can live with the proportions.

I'd lift it a little higher in proportion to the ceiling height.

I'm surprised no one has jumped in yet to admonish you for being so gauche and unsophisticated as to consider highighting "phony" fire. (We're venturing an electric fp, but only for the primary bedroom.)

I think so much depends on your style too. I do not love that ceiling height but now that it is there i see no issue with high lighting it so the lnear placement works for me especailly if the TV goes above . Are you doing all that shelving on the sides ?
