Telescoping doors

I really love the way these telescoping doors open the living area to the outside. Two questions:

1- what door options exist to create the maximum opening for an existing structure where space for deep pockets is not available?

2- what do the owners do to manage bugs/insects especially at night while taking advantage of such a beautiful opening to the outside?

@Griffin Enright Architects - You must be very lucky having no bugs!

1. If you are looking to have the largest possible clear opening without a pocket for a multi-slide (telescoping) door, you may want to look into folding doors. They can fold up to the side instead of having a stationary panel blocking your opening from a multi-slide door. Any updates on the air curtain project? What air curtains did you use? Were they quiet? Any photos of the final project with the air curtains installed?
