You've complicated this decision with the placement of your downlights. Do you install two items on the wall or one between the downlights?

It would help to have more context if you'd take this photo a bit further back from the wall.

Do you have towel bars somewhere already? If not, you should be thinking about where you're going to put them as well.

I would do 3 pieces of art to balance the asymmetry.

I like the idea of three pieces of art, but yes, it would be good to know if some functional elements are needed or if you have them already.

Yeah unfortunately due to weird windows and difficult plumbing (and me wanting a tub!) this was quite literally the only layout that would work. i think well probabprobably have to do towels on the back of the door unless you think there is a way for them to look nice on that back wall!

I would suggest wallpapering the back wall for more visual impact and interest.

no waterproofing behind that tub? I'm surprised that passed. You have plumbing coming directly out of a 'painted' wall. ? If anyone splashes in that tub, I can see issues down the road. is there greenboard or something behind it? or perhaps waterproofing of some type?

the downlights on a dark paint really highlight the less than perfect drywall application.

you could have done a tile wainscot or something like this

    black tile

    or this, w/vinyl

love this . and it would hide the bump in the wall. they make a tile similar to this in black

back up and lets see the rest of the room

Beverly nailed it again. Artwork placed to account for the down lighting. I love the wall color. Some contemporary art would look great here.

Not a safe reach across the tub to get towels from a hook or rod. We have towel hooks on the back of our bathroom door and much to my surprise they dry a towel better than a bar does.

Maybe try some artwork or plants to help give the space a finished feeling. Take a moment to look at a few ideas from some bathrooms we have designed.

If it were me, I'd want artwork that made me feel like I was bathing al fresco in a relaxing secluded zen space, so artwork depicting that. And a towel rack. I have towels on the back of the door and I hate dripping over there to get them or stacking them on the toilet seat. I have a towel rack adjacent to the tub but hubs got dibs on it. It's one bar. If you do a towel rack, make it for multiple towels. I don't mind that look, brings color into the space, lightens it up. Even a slightly lighter grey would still look inviting.

Not necessarily relaxing, but another art idea. Kind of joking although I have a repro of this in my home, but not in the bathroom. I inherited a collection of Japanese block prints and I have grown to love this style.

It doesn't look like the walls around the tub are waterproof. If they are not, then it would be a good idea to get that done. Otherwise you might just look at adding shelves, or a piece of artwork, above the tub and then leave the rest be. If there is room next to the tub, you could try adding a small bench and a plant as well:
