furniture ideas for first home!!

Hello everyone! :) My fiancé and I just purchased our first home! We absolutely fell in love with it. The photos are of the staged house. We are trying to get some ideas for our own furniture before we take possession of the house. We love the staged living room - it is exactly our style (not sure what you would call it). I’m having some trouble with deciding what colour dining set would look best. The previous owners had a lot of different tones and I’m not sure how to make the space more cohesive. Looking to keep the upgrades to a minimal as we are on a tight budget, but open to hearing any and all suggestions! Please help us make this house a home!!

The living room furniture is perfect. Have you asked if you can buy the staged furniture? If that isn't possible all of it is very easy to copy.

Understand why the staged dining room furniture doesn't work. It is too heavy, dark and rigid looking.

West Elm. Visually, have an open base. Keep the horizontal wood (counters, floor, table top the same tone.

Chairs are from amazon. I like that the chair is the same color of the table, and the seats work with the gray island.

Wow, thank you! You have a great eye - I can see it looking better already. While we did love how the furniture looked, it wasn’t of best quality so we are looking for something more durable for day to day use. Thanks again! Happy to hear any other thoughts you may have as we are looking to update the kitchen in the near future :)

Not sure what the measurements of the room are, but maybe a round table could work.

What a lovely home. Congrats on your first home. We think doing a table that is the same wood as the island and floors might work best since that wood tone is already around. Notice how in this design below, we've used the same wood tones from the wooden cabinets and flooring for the dining room table.

Will there be a TV in the space? It's hard to tell from the photos, but you could easily float a sofa on a rug and facing the wall the sofa is currently on. Then place a TV and console on the wall where the sofa currently is. For a dining room table, you might consider a dining room table that would work well with the flooring. We can add a few ideas below
