Live in mountains of Southern California.. the crazy rains we had this time last year (Jan 2023). We had mud slides and major flooding in our back yard. The hills side is basically graded to the back side of my house. Water following grade we had major water intrusion coupled with septic over flow = disgusting Fetid nightmare

We hired a company to install retaining walls, drainage and pavers. The retaining. Walls and pavers were set against the side of the house which has stucco down to the footing of the house.

After the “hurricane” in august the basement flooded, now after the two. Storm in Feb 24. It flooded again.

To my best guess the water is seeping into The dirt around the house and up through the weep gap behind the stucco and into the house. = 1-3 inches of water in house and garage.

The company has come out and has now tore up the pavers and dug down to the footing of the house. They want to pour a mini Concrete wall against the house and stucco beginning 6 inches below the stucco to about 1 ft above the stucco (covering the weep / air gap) to prevent future water intrusion. … I have no idea about this kind of stuff.
