I'd do beverage drawers, both. But It depends what you and your guests drink. That might even depend your climate . I'm sure more frozen margaritas are consumed in California or Florida , than NY or Illinois.

The only place I would use a freezer drawer might be an adjunct in an island - kid snacks for the microwave : )

Sorry I cannot get past 8K for a bar frdige ever . To me a nice wine fridge is all you need in a bar area it keeps anything I use in my bar area handy for use and can handle all those tall things that need storage in a bar.

I am making the exact same decision right now. I think the option of having frozen items, such as "craft" ice, would be nice.

@Jan Moyer Can you provide an example of a "beverage drawer"? I'm not sure I've seen such a thing, but am very interested -- I would rather have drawers than a standard beverage center.

TXGuy I will do a separate undercounter ice maker(True brand). This will be pull out fridge drawers. Was originally going to be one fridge drawer and one freezer drawer so it could have ice making in it, but I don;t need that now with the undercounter ice maker.

@sarah Yes I got that. But some cocktail afficiandos like to use what is often referred to as "craft" ice. The True icemaker makes "top hat" style clear ice. But If you want 2" clear cubes or spheres for your cocktails, you need to make them separately and then store them for use. That is where I think a freezer drawer could come in handy. So, this may not be the right option for you, but it would augment, not replace, your True icemaker. The freezer could also be handy for super-chilling spirits such as vodka. As an aside -- what led you to choose the True icemaker? I love True appliances in general, but their icemaker has one of the most complex cleaning routines, so I am looking at other brands (although I will have other True refrigeration appliances).

Hmmm, it was explained to me that the true had the easieat clean so maybe the applicance folks gave me wrong intel! i wanted the sub-zero, but those are beyond backprdered - you cant even order them for waiting.

Interesting on the craft ice- yes the undercounters dont make exact what i would love like ”sonic ice” but sometimes its hard to get every optijn we want .

@sarah Well, for full disclosure I haven't personally cleaned any of the icemakers. But I have read the cleaning instructions in the owners' manuals. I'd suggest you do the same -- check out the instructions for the True and compare them to, say, Scotsman. The True calls for significantly more disassembly. If you want "Sonic ice", there are certainly manufacturers that offer that, e.g., Scotsman.

Prob won't be using until June so I'll try and remember to come back here! In the meantime, have asked my appliance sales people to confirm how user friendly it is.
