Does anyone have Medallion cabinets in Maple Biscotti?

Would love to see this in a full kitchen before committing to the color. Deciding between this and Cherry in cappuccino stain. Thanks!

I do, I do! Mine are Yorktowne but its the same brand under different names. We went with the Maple Biscotti for everything except our island which is Maple Smoke. We are mid renovation so not everything is finished yet

I debated getting the Cherry Cappuchino but my husband did not like the grain in the wood. I agree with him now, the maple is so subtle snd understated. I was also told that the cherry would possibly darken over time.

these photos were taken at night but our kitchen is well lit so i think the biscotti color is accurate. the smoke color is a little purple in the photo but in person more of a deep brown with a hint of gray

Also, I follow Coastal Cabinets Works Inc on Facebook and they just posted a remodel

with a huge island in the maple biscotti

Thank you so much! Love it! We had the same thoughts, precisely

Can you please share your flooring as well!?

  • last year

Sure! We wanted a gray thinking it would be better for a high traffic area, and I liked the color variation in this tile we found at ProSource. It’s made by Panaria and we selected the ”griege range” color due to the hint of brown / warm tones in it.

Kathleen - Are you still trying to decide between Medallion/Schuler in Maple Biscotti and Cherry Cappuccino?

I am interested in these two choices, as well. I have found Cherry Cappuccino photos in other posts. A third choice I like is Cherry Biscotti, but cannot find any photos of Cherry Biscotti.

CC - I love your cabinet photos showing Yorktowne (Medallion/Schuler) in Maple Biscotti. Could you please post photos with the lights turned off/with natural daylight? I also checked out the link you posted showing a Maple Biscotti island...very helpful.

The third wood/stain photo I am searching for (Cherry Biscotti) eludes me. I have sample size pieces of wood (ordered online through Schuler $3 each) of all three of these cabinet wood/stains. They are fairly small 3" x 4" ? It would be beneficial to see a kitchen photo.

  • last year

The samples measure about 5" x 5". The maple wood with Biscotti stain is lighter than the Cherry wood with Biscotti stain. Image below is from the Schuler web site.

Maple Biscotti - Left / Cherry Biscotti - Right

We are going with Maple Biscotti (though haven’t placed the order yet). I haven’t seen the cherry biscotti either, really. It’s tough making decisions and finishes on counters/flooring based on such small samples!

Kathleen - I, too, am leaning towards maple wood with biscotti stain, but won't need to decide until 3-4 months from now. I am really liking CC's kitchen (above) and hope they post some update photos. I agree with you about how hard it is to make decisions based on small samples. Keep us posted when you place your order. I'll be interested to find out how long it takes between ordering and delivery.

Will do. Right now we are leaning toward Coretec Vinyl tile to go with it since it seemed to match up best in our home lighting.

What did you end up deciding?
Would also love to see CC finished kitchens

This is beautiful!!!! Great job!!! I love your countertop and backsplash choices. Thank you so much for sharing!!! I am debating on so many things

    • door style
    • hardware colors and style
      -appliance colors
    • if I could pull some grey in w the brown cabinets (which it looks like your back splash does - I love it).

Can I just copy everything? 😂😂

  • last year

Also - I really like how you tied in the cabinets to the ceiling!

Do you recall what door style you used?

  • last year

Thanks so much! We had the same dilemmas and changed the color of our hardware at the last second. I believe the door style is Park Place. And yes, we went with a grey-ish backsplash and gray veining in the counter, so you can definitely go that route. Counter link (https://www.cambriausa.com/quartz-countertops/quartz-colors/designs/ironsbridge ) Backsplash from a local tile shop. Our favorite decision was the cabinets, though!

Kathleen - Thank you for posting photos and info. Your kitchen is beautiful and I love the maple wood with Biscotti stain!! The countertop, backsplash and flooring coordinate very well.

We placed our order with Lowe's for Schuler (Medallion, Yorktowne) cabinets in January. They should be delivered this coming week. We are out of state so won't see them in person until June. Photos like Kathleen's and CC's makes me very happy we went with maple-biscotti : )

Kathleen - thank you for posting! I'm wondering if you can tell me the approximate dimensions of your backsplash tile? I am looking at one very similar and I like the scale of yours.

Kathleen - Absolutely love everything about your kitchen. Thanks for sharing. We had Medallion vanities installed in a couple of bathrooms and they are fantastic. Also in a mud room. We just picked out another vanity with Biscotti on maple. lol. Coincidentally, we are thinking of Cremello Travertine floor in our kitchen. Love how it looks in yours and definitely want it after seeing on a real floor. The only reservation I had was that the sample felt slippery. How has it been for you? Is it slippery?

Andy C - can you share pictures of your biscotti cabinets?

I would be happy to when the vanity arrives. I had to change the style due to a plumbing issue. It’s supposed to arrive in 6 weeks.

l'm designing a kitchen using the maple biscotti right now too. We're having a dilema about taking the cabinets to the ceiling with 9' ceilings. Don't really like the stacked look in our smaller u-shaped kitchen so thinking about using the 42" with a double crown. How big is your crown in picture and how high are your ceilings?

The pictures don’t do it justice. It is way better in person. We had to move and we are getting the same thing since we loved it so much.

I'm happy wie chose maple wood with Biscotti stain. Here are some photos taken in natural daylight.

Sheila - we have a vaulted ceiling. The wall behind the sink is 9'. Wall cabinets are 39" tall I put a tape measure next to the crown molding and it looks like 4".

Sheila - we also have 9 ft ceilings. Here is stacked look (which you said you don’t want - but I thought it might give visual)

We are mid-install but maybe it helps

On our fridge/oven side, we are going with taller cabinets. Sorry - they others are not up yet but here is fridge cabinet (oven and one additional cabinet will be in this wall and they will NOT be stacked)

hermann2 - Beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more pics as you progress. What countertop are you going to use?

Laurie - we went with quartz -Envi calacatta vivo. Work almost done - I’ll try to remember to post more

Here is a look w countertops. We did same cabinetry and adjoining bathroom but did remnant granite piece for the countertop (titanium)

hermann2 - Fabulous! Thank you for posting more photos. Your choices of materials all look very nice together. What paint color are the walls and what cabinet hardware, faucet and sink will you install?

Here are a few finishes. The oven wall shows tall cabinets (not stacked) with 9 ft ceilings.
Paint color is anew grey by sherwin williams, cabinet hardware is top knobs brand (Exeter and Julian), faucet is hansgrohe Joleena, and I did a frankee 60/40 stainless double sink.

Thank you for these additional photos and info. I like how your floors pair with the cabinets and paint. Everything looks beautiful and functional!

Laurie -I am just joining this thread. I was looking for instó on Medallion Hickory biscotti but I love the look of the maple. What did you use for countertops?

    K Couchon -

For our Maple cabinets with Biscotti stain by Schuler (purchased through Lowes) we went with Soapstone. It's called "Stormy Black" and also referred to as "PA Original".

When you are searching for photos or info on Medallion cabinets, remember that you can interchange the company name Medallion with Schuler and with Yorktowne.

I wanted to purchase the soapstone from M Teixeira, but the closest location to the state of Washington was far away. They would have shipped it for me, however the additional shipping cost was too high for my budget. I found a smaller company that specializes in soapstone located about 1-1/2 hours south of my location which worked out well.
