May we have measurements of each wall, each opening, the window, the sliding glass door and the fireplace then we can build a 3D rendition of the room.

No worries. we worked the floorplan out. To be honest with all that you would like to have in this room, you have it worked out. Perhaps get rid of the big chair near the fireplace and put the school desk over there. Then the side table next to the couch. You already did a good job with the layout considering all the functions you want in the room.

If that lowered ceiling area is just duct work I would consider having it moved to the wall with the TV. Well worth the expense.

The last three. These angles show you the walkway from the hallway into the room and the couch table with additional storage. With all of the shelves and baskets in the couch table you will have lots of storage for toys, craft supplies and media.

We have come up with some suggestions that will hopefully work for you. We have included the craft table, a play area, the living room seating and TV viewing area, We are suggesting that you put shelving along the wall with the doors to the bathroom and hallway. By putting them there you open up the room. We understand that you have the drop down ceiling but you can do built-ins or get Billy book shelves from IKEA that can be fitted to the walls on that end of the room. We hope this helps. Lorraine- there is also a beam in there with the duct work, but significantly smaller than the overall dropped ceiling dimensions. I am intrigued, and curious if it is possible to move the ductwork and wires, as you suggest, and cover the beam in a smaller way. It could be very $$ too, but would really open up the room to more possibilities. Thanks!

Beverly- interesting idea! Thanks! It essentially divides the room into 2 spaces more equally. And distancing the couch a bit more from tv would actually be a plus. Not sure though with the back of the couch to the sliding door entrance/exit. I will have to see. Thanks!

The current layout isn't bad however it looks like it needs some adjustments. We'd recommend removing the chair that is right next to the fireplace and placing it next to the other chair. Then look at getting some closed storage instead of the big white storage/bookcase. We might also suggest turning the table to make it horizontal instead of vertical.
