You do not use a wet saw with those. Use a big pro score and snap. Rubi, Ishi, Sigma, Montolit, etc.

Eek! if a good breaker is over a grand, I can afford to continue with my existing equipment and buy a little more tile if I break some badly. I wonder if I should just score the line I'm cutting to encourage the break to follow my intended cut line......hmmmm, OK, in any event. I appreciate the info.

While the best tool is the breaker, you can experiment with your saw by making a short cut into the tile on your cut line, then turning the tile around and make your cut from the opposite side. The short cut might just relieve the tension preventing it from breaking, sort of like the proper way to cut a tree branch.

Perhaps you can rent the proper tool rather than having to purchase?

I checked the brand of my current saw....made in China.....QP

It's been a pretty good saw but limited since the cut head can't be raised for scoring or cutting outlets and such.

In the meanwhile, I really only have one more short wall and some miscl. cuts left....and some cuts along the mating edge once I install the shower pan. I'm waiting on the shower pan and also trying to get most of the tile work done prior to placing the pan. I plan to install the pan and then finish the bottom row and install the end wall and tile it with the shower pan installed. I initially planned to do this with a polymer pan but have switched to cast iron. It would have been simpler with the cast iron pan just installing it first and protecting it.

Here is the current look....again, lacking the shower end wall. I also plan to add a 12" or so drop down from the ceiling along the top of the shower doors....with a ventilation opening.
