More details required starting with the size of the room with a floor plan plus what does your daughter need furniture & equipment wise.

    more info, for sure,

a soft color for walls and ceiling since there is only one source of natural light.

a very light background wall paper with a subtle pattern, depending on the style.

This is why I always say DO NOT start another post . Now you have 2 to go check for help. If you can delete one . As for wall color we need a ton more info. Does the carpet have to stay ? IMO a really awful color to work with but the sapce looks dreary so IMO that whole vibe has to change .

If she’s a psychotherapist: For in-person sessions—couch across the wall under the window, a small round coffee table on a patterned rug, her chair along the right side wall facing the coffee table/couch seating area. For virtual sessions—desk against the wall next to the door with chair, and a laptop on a desk stand.

With that carpet, blues and greens with blush to wine and also cream accents would work.

My initial thoughts are....Far right wall corner (NE corner) by the outlet a small table that functions as a desk. So computer backs to the right wall and clients can not see screen when they walk in (so her desk chair would be slightly under window facing the right or east wall). Where the other outlet is (west or left wall), I would put her chair at a diagonal facing SE corner in photo. 2 client chairs would then also be diagonal, one on the right/east wall and one on the south wall, with a small table in between client chairs for tissues, etc, and a trash can below. a rug that covers the space between therapist and client chairs. I'm not sure there is space for a coffee table in the center btwn therapist and client chairs, and it might make the room look smaller.

If that doesn't make sense, I can draw it out, but I have no software program.

A monotone blush pink for this room feels appropriate for the clientele.

Homeowner design and homeowner grade materials are never appropriate to a contract level design. ADA considerations are also big time needed here. That is a big pile of worms if this is inaccessible.

ADA is a whole other story, I agree. My photos are for color and textile inspiration if you'll notice my caption.

Below are some of the home office designs we have completed for clients. Perhaps looking through the images will help your figure out how to help your daughter. If possible, look at ripping that carpet out, adding a desk, computer chair, small conversation area, artwork, lamps, plants, etc.

I’m not a decorator, but I am a Psychologist. Over my 40 years of practice, I rented about six offices. I can give some insight as to what is needed. She needs a sofa, maybe apartment size, and two chairs available. The style needs to come-ordinate. Lighting needs to be the right wattage so it isn’t too bright. She needs a therapist chair. Many buy the stressless or a knockoff for comfort sitting all day. She needs a desk with a monitor for Telehealth, remembering the client can see what is behind her. At my current Telehealth office, I have a wall behind me with a really nice, peaceful picture. The colors need to be neutral with a dash of soothing color. The colors and furnishings have to be comfortable for both men and women. I have accented with medium to darker blue over the years and in my last office, I decorated with a green.. Nothing garish, everything needs to look professional. In a rented office, the carpeting can’t be taken out unless the landlord agrees and she can put something else down. She needs to be aware of anything that is a trip hazard. If she sees children, that’s a different office setup. Hopefully, some of the decorators can help her with some measurements provided.
