My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
There is nothing about Jeldwen Windows that are quality in ANY series. The manufacturing, fit & finish, and customer service are all lacking severely. I would anything Jeldwen in my dog's house.
What’s important to me are: durability, dependability, efficiency, manufacturer’s warranty and support, aesthetics and quality components & construction and value for money (not necessarily in that order). I guess that’s a lot to ask of a simple window! Thank you ‘millworkman’ for your opinion. I welcome feedback from others, especially on the DF Hybrid in a residential new construction home. by the way, my sister-in-law put in JeldWen clad wood windows and patio doors in their custom built home. They look good and are happy with them (although they do not open their windows). Only issue they have is with their sliding patio door, a 4 panel with the middle panels that slide. Problem is, only one panel opens and the builder could not make it work properly.
Jkodikara, did your SIL ever get that fixed? If both panels can't open and no one resolved it, between the builder, the window supplier, and the manufacturer, then I think that's abbreviated anecdotal evidence that Jeld-wen doesn't meet the attributes you are looking for. I would say a lot depends on your local supplier too when it comes to customer service. We had windows in our prior home with various glazing issues and our supplier worked to resolve them effectively every time, such that when we built again, we used a different brand (Andersen) that they also offer.
There is a whole bunch of manufacturers that can hit on items 1-4. We should really be talking about what you want to look at and what the design/build aims of the home are.
