Exterior paint colors help!

This is a 100 year old house surrounded by trees, facing North at a huge park. The windows will be black but I really do not want a farmhouse style...thank you

Are those 50’s style French doors on the first floor going everywhere? And what is that one random section of stone lower left?

Is this a real photo of the house now or is this a mock up with black windows and doors?

I guess this could be considered a Mission-style home, though the details are beginning to slip away. The attempt to modernize it with the black framed windows & eliminating the stone base seems to be the wrong direction.

I vote for the original paint colors shown in this photo below. It works nicely with the stone.

Here are some other photos of the home.

this house below would be the more contemporary version of your home.

I find these thingies - trim pieces on the surface of the house - extraneous and distracting. Surely they have a name? Are they a vital feature of a specific house style that I’m not familiar with?

Anyway, I’d remove or simply paint them the house color so they disappear.

I’m not a pro, but the black windows seem just wrong, sorry. You’re lucky to have such a beautiful home; do it the honor of respecting its style.

The picture I posted is the most recent. Yes, the front windows were removed and I put in big black french doors to face the park. Yes, I'll remove those trim pieces or just paint same color as the body,. I love dark houses but not sure how to pull it off here.

The previous owners started buying new black windows so I guess I could paint them white. The black steel french doors will need to stay black.

    thank you all,

I guess my question is what style do you want it to be . I think the new doors do not suit the house so what do you want ? IMO black windows are all wring for the style you have anf the start of that were the new doors in black.Remove all the trim square off the portico , no arched window and then if you want do the black windows like the top left and begin to plan a much more modren house . Be prapred to spen big bucks

Sigh. I’m a fan of contemporary and modern but with a deep appreciation of architecture that was well done. This was a great home in KC that has a history of great homes. I am clueless about this coastal hybrid just posted. I guess you will continue to set fire to the money and the house.

    It's a beautiful house...

You say you do not want a farmhouse look but the large black sliding windows you've replaced in the front by the front door have changed the style of the house to give it more of a farmhouse look. Since they make such a big statement in black, I would tend to continue with black windows and front door, white trim, and paint the stucco - below I show a light gray.
