Good outdoor fan for coastal area?

Moving into new house—need two ceiling fans with light/bulbs that can be changed out for lanai—coastal area about 1-2 miles from beach. Hunter has WeatherMax fans which are supposed to be more resistant to corrosion. But trying not to spend over 300 a fan—sometimes it is just easier to buy cheaper and replace after couple of years. They will be installed by electrician initially. Want wall control not remote as ONLY control which so many fans seem to be now.

As shown on figure 13 of the installation instructions, the fan and light are controlled by a receiver in the fan's canopy. The remote transmits signals to the receiver to adjust the fan speed and direction, and light.

As shown on figure 2 of the wall control instructions, the wall control receives power from the house wiring but transmits signals to the fan receiver just like the handheld remote.

Unless the receiver was bypassed in some way, there is no hardwire control of the fan or light.

I have 3 of these Minka fans in our lanai. We have been in the house 2.5 years and no issues so far. We are about 1 mile from the Gulf. You can get them with or without a light. Mine are wired to a wall switch and I can also use the remote. I paid less at a local store that only sells fans.

A friend also has the same fans and she's had no issues either.

Beware: the wall controller that ships with that Minka fan is not wired to the fan. It controls the fan remotely just like the handheld (aka remote) controller. The wall controller does receive power from the house wiring but there are no wires from it to the fan. The remote controller, of course, requires batteries.

Here are hardwired Hunter fans. Only check out the fans whose control is a knob for no-battery controller models. (The ones with lights appeared to use wireless control...but I could be wrong.)

Hunters has fans with and without lights that are remote only or hardwire w remote option
I am more interested in the anti corrosion properties to keep outdoor fan in good shape

The Hunter fans linked above are "Outdoor Covered" but you can modify the search in the left-hand menu. Note that the Hunter "hardwire w remote option" fans often have a controller that mounts in a wall electrical box but that controller is battery-powered, not connected to the house wiring, and operates the fan wirelessly. You have to read the installation instructions to check for a receiver in the fan canopy to be sure.

These three Weathermax fans are completely hard-wired.

My electrician did not use a wall control. He used a standard outdoor rated switch and definitely hardwired the fan. Pretty much everyone in FL has outdoor fans and this is the way they are usually installed here. Might be FL code?

The switch is only on/off, so if I need to adjust the speed I need to pull out the remote for that. When switched to off, it is completely off and can't accidentally be turned on with the remote.

Nope, he wired the on/off switch to the receiver in the fan's canopy. That's why you still control the fan with the remote. He did not hardwire the fan which is what the OP requests.
