Can you name this plant ?

I don't know what this plant is. It seems to be well established in my yard. It stands in between a couple of boxwoods that I have. Right now it's about 3-4 feet tall. It tries to grow aggressively but I trim it down. I am curious to know more about it. What's the name ? Any benefits from it. Should I get rid of it? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Spirea japonica is invasive in the mid Atlantic region. Please google "spirea japonica invasive" and see if it's okay in your state before deciding to keep it. It's a tough, disease and drought resistant shrub. As you've discovered annual pruning controls the size. If you like it and it isn't invasive in your area, it's a very useful plant.

It's a spiraea of some variety. There are zillions of them and with a range of leaf and flower colors. They are attractive to a number of pollinators and are a host or food plant for an assortment of butterfly and moth larvae. Many gardeners find them very attractive and certainly plant them intentionally :-))

I doubt anyone can name the specific cultivar from the photo. And it looks a bit pale for AW.

I would get a professional identification that was obtained on site, before I removed it. If you don't get the professional id, keep and eye on it and enjoy it. We have has several different types that look like the picture in several different location and they always have been an asset to the landscape.
