Peel and stick vs pre-pasted wallpaper

I'm doing a mini-update to my powder room -- new light, mirror and faucet. I also want to wallpaper the vanity wall and it's about 3' wide, so it's not a big job. I'm experienced at wallpapering -- I've done pre-pasted and unpasted but I've never worked with peel and stick. There's one pattern that i really like is only available in peel and stick and I'm wondering if it's worth it. One thing about pasted wallpaper is that you can slide it into place -- is peel and stick a one-shot deal like contact paper? Will it curl away from the wall over time? Are there other differences that I should know?

I don't want to do this and then have to re-do it so should I just keep looking?

The first few times I tried peel and stick I absolutely hated it. Then I discovered a spray that you put on the walls just before you apply the paper. It allows the slide needed to align patterns. A game changer.

It is just expensive contact paper. My wallpaper team won’t touch it because there is zero adjustment.

I used peel & stick in a very small area and it was a pain to adjust as mentioned above.

Mtn did a peel and stick mural or two IIRC. I just ordered some repositionable posters for my son's classroom and they were better than I expected. We ordered a few more (the 16x20 are on sale for $5 each with the code 5DOLLAR through the 17th). They even looked good on cement block and covered a torn spot on sheetrock. If that is what peel and stick wallpaper is like, I would do it for a wall -- not sure about a room. It would actually be THE way to do a ceiling if you ever wanted to. Not sure I would, but I know I would NEVER want to do it with paste.

I did my powder room in peel and stick over a year ago. Mine was from Spoonflower. I found it easy to work with and it is lasting beautifully.

Spoonflower prints to order so there is very little lining up. Each strip is a roll, they align. Very different from when I last used prepasted (which was ages ago).

lascatx, I have put pasted wallpaper on ceilings, and I did not have any trouble with it. I've only done it in small rooms, such as bathrooms, however.

Good to know - and small rooms or multiple people and scaffolding might be required. It just seems like it could get messy working with paste overhead. Given my neck issues, which are worst when looking and reaching up, I'm really not that likely to do either.

I have only used peel & stick on the back wall of bookcases/cabinets and even that was challenging, but not terrible — I am just not an experienced wallpaperer. I am considering it for our tiny vestibule at our front door, though. I have only been thinking about it for about 5 years but this might be the year, who knows?
