Here is an option to go with roof extension for full length of the house.

Your going to have to start the porch roof in your homes roof to get appropriate head clearance. not an inexpensive undertaking. it will need to be designed well or it will look tacked on. ive seen it done very badly.

We added a porch and roof to our 80's ranch. We also added a second floor.

It will be amazing the transformation a porch can be on these ranches. I've seen some transformations that are phenomenal.

IMO get an architect to show you how different ideas can work and IMO a 10 x20 gable not in a 100 yrs with that house . I like the first pic from celery that is what suits the house . A much better front door not victorian for sure. Waht style of home do you want ? IMO this is aperfect house to go MCM but we need to undersatnd what homes you like. I went to your idea book and this might be doable for a look not MCM . THis other pic is my fave for that style of house the windows the front door the garage door and the landscping all work in tandem with the house style not forcing it to be something it is not so talk to anarchitest to really understand what is actually doable in your budget .

Before anything, please address the sagging ridge beam in your home. That should be fixed before you embark on anything decorative.

If you want a porch across the front of the home you'll have to start it on the roof to get the height you require.

Your other option is to simply add a gabled canopy over the front door.
