If you have an IKEA within reach that would be the solution. they have lots of wardrobe and bookcase options.

TY, thinkdesignlive, you are right:

(1) The Nordkisa pics show 8-10 hangers (pants and shirts), with other basics (underwear and t-shirts) folded and stored in cubbies. Might not be enough, but fits the wall?

(2) I was searching IKEA for two units of the same style, and light wood (not black, not white), and found the Nordkisa, but that line doesn't have a bookcase, and Kallax doesn't have a wardrobe :(

I just read that furniture shopping is part of being an adult; I am hoping houzzers with shopping experience will help me out with other/better options🤣.

I think you get what you like and a bunch of starnagers are not going to help much I think Ikeaa sales people will be a much better choice for help.

This wardrobe is decent looking and you’d get one drawer. This could be mixed with a simple shelving unit in a color or wood. Since it’s only 31” wide I’d put a coat tree in the remaining space in the corner for more hanging. Keeping things light and flexible for moving is key at this stage and these big armoire units are hard to move once assembled and they aren’t really built for reassembly.

Although studying that last one - it’s only 18” deep. It’s really not deep enough for hanging much since everything will have to angle which looses inches. I despise Walmart but something like this would give you the most storage inches along that wall:

A 60” bed is a queen but you note full size (which is 54”). Which is it specifically? Can you flip the head of the bed to the other wall? Then you could run a series of lower shelves along the wall to the left of the wardrobe which will make the room feel bigger and will give you the most storage. Plus it’s nice to have a long surface to set things on (lamps, pictures, etc)

Like this? A garment rack may be fine for your needs right now….

2. Regarding the layout, I need to place the head of my bed on the left side, opposite wall to my roommate’s bedroom (which is on the right side), to minimize noise. Also, I'd prefer a bookcase with a couple of drawers at the bottom over a full dresser because I need a place to keep my books, papers, and laptop. Hope to find something with a couple of drawers to keep the underwear there. Sorry TMI!

3. I also need a side table, which I will add to the original post. For now, I have this bed* in the bedroom, and a desk + chair in the common area.

Hmmm I think I’d try the bed on the common wall. It might be fine in terms of ‘noise’. A dresser as a side table would give you drawers or there is always the IKEA Billy unit that is shelves above a drawer (at 12” deep it’s really only good for underwear, socks, etc). And if you really do have a full size bed that helps with spacing. Good luck!

Ps the dresser / nightstand idea kills 2 birds so it would really be ideal if you could do that next to your bed.

Since your bed is wood it would be nice to keep the other furniture white or a color as trying to match that wood would always look off.
