This is not a media room just a room with a TV and layers of lighting is how you light the space if you want dark to watch a movie then plan to beable to keep only min. lights on but for a nice group of guests no TV you need good lighting and that never comes from a center fixture only You need table ;amps floor lamps and ceiling lights each layer controlled seaeratley not to mention blavkout drapes and in a media room some way to actually control the light from the huge opening. IMO treat it like a nice LR with a TV not ever going to be a media room really

Thanks, Patricia... I wasn't exactly sure what to call the room, so maybe "media room" wasn't correct (I was just trying to explain that it's a multi-purpose room mainly for watching TV/video games/etc).

Blackout blinds are installed and there will be some lamps :) If you know which ceiling light configuration would be best, please let me know, as I'm more concerned about the fixed lighting at this point... then will worry more about the other layers!

I like pot lights 4 ft form the wall and 4 feet from eachother sometimes one side on one switch one side on anoter .
