concerned about MDF exposure

We moved into our house about a year ago and I just realized my daughter’s built in closet system is probably made out of MDF. The bottoms of all the drawer are not coated with anything and appear to be just raw MDF. Should I be concerned about off gassing and contamination of her clothes that are in the drawers or am I being paranoid?
