Thanks Donna. The hospital postponed mine until next week because they forgot to tell me to go off one of my meds in time. :( Theresa, hope your husband's surgery goes well.

    Thank you both!

And Jackie, I hope yours goes well too. We need those hands in good working order so we can quilt and quilt some more.

Jackie, I’m sorry to hear you were postponed. Waiting for surgery is very stressful!

Wonderful news, Theresa. I hope his recovery goes well and speedily.. Jackie, good luck on your surgery too. This seems like the week for operations. I had my first cataract surgery today. The second one is in two weeks

This is pretty weird That last post was from me. I was in Europe for a couple weeks, and when I tried to sign back in, I ended up establishing a new user.. Crazy.

We are having a lot of email problems this week, lots of bouncebacks from addresses we have been using forever. The stars must not be aligned!!

Lois, I hope your recovery goes well, too!

Thanks, Donna. Surgery went well yesterday. My vision is still cloudy in that eye, but i guess that is normal. Absolutely so pain, so that’s nice. Colors do change a bit. White is really bright and white now. I compare it to the Kona fabrics named White and Snow. Snow has a little cream in it. Greens are bluer now, less yellow. My right eye gets done in two weeks if all continues to go well with the left one.

It is amazing what cataract surgery does to your vision! good luck on the second one.

A couple of setbacks. He was having some bleeding from the incision site. Two trips to the hospital has him in better shape. And now we start clinic visits for wound care, dressings etc.

  • last year

That sounds very tiring, for both him and you! Take care. ❤️

Yes Donna, very tiring! His reason is the number of drugs he has to take. My reason is… I don’t know but I could sleep all day just as he is. Probably another two weeks of dressing changes, at least. When he had this same procedure five years ago, we were able to get the nurse come to our home for that. But nurse shortages has discontinued that program except in extreme cases. So now, we go to a clinic every day. Fortunately it is only five or so minutes from home.

Will be glad when he is healed.

And has Jackie had her surgery yet?

    Theresa

I did have my first surgery on the 12th. I was only off work that day and have been working since. I get my stitches out the 25th. My hand already feels so much better without the nerve pain. The surgical pain is nothing. LOL I will have the other hand done in about 6 weeks.

I’m happy that your surgery went so well. I remember when I had my back surgery. The relief of the absence of nerve pain was so much greater than the pain of the surgery. I hope things continue to go well for you.
