Would long curtains help low ceiling feel more spacious?

1960 apartment has 8 foot ceilings. The windows are really low (starts 2 feet below ceilings). Would hanging long curtains near ceiling help? window is 2 feet below ceiling? if not, any other suggestions?

Not unless something is under those curtains to hide two feet of header, which is too much header,

This is a nine foot ceiling below

The woven shade is disguising a lot of the 18 inches of header, from windows set too low in the wall

You don't need to mount at the ceiling. It fools no one, and an 8' ceiling isn't "low" .........it was the standard for eons. Based on human height of extremely rare to exceed 6 1/2 feet tall.: )

It is only "low" compared with new builds of today or gracious Georgians of the 1920's . or earlier Victorians

Nope. !!! Get an OUTSIDE mount shade, hang as high as you like , lose the vertical blinds, .You can't hang curtains over an air conditioner.

Embrace your low ceilings and make it a space you love. What else are you doing with the space? Is that a door into your home on the right? You won't be able to cover the AC unit. But there are things you can create to make your space special.

I need to see the whole space but no drapes infornt of an air con for sure .Weird placement for windows in any 8' ceiling. All of mine are as close to the ceiling as possible in my 1956 ranch with 8' ceilings . Is this arenatl or your new home ?
