Never Dutchlap

With these huge gables this is a three story house. The roof seems too tall to me.

Here are blue and white frame homes for your reference.

Vinyl I presume? Regular Lap as wide as possible. No Dutchlap. But the roof looks like a top hat and overwhelms the rest of the home. Is this new construction?

Those gables appear to be crushing the floors under them, and if they stay at least add properly scaled windows.

Too large and too many gables so if this is still on the drawing board fix that and making them white makes them look even worse . I find this seems to be the norm now for new builds a ton of uneccessary roof angles and gables for no real purpose other than increasing building costs hugely , not to mention snow and rain run off issues .

Use blue everywhere or the gables will make the house "top heavy". Follow @BeverlyFLADeziner's advice.
