Would you also leave the drop front open?

The worry is, that the open doors could be a bump hazard. They would be open over empty space, but I imagine a pair of nice pots or ceramic garden stools under the doors would balance them.

And, even with the doors open, would the contents, or even the gorgeous piece itself, be seen? It might not be very visible as you pass through the hall, or would place it near a doorway that you enter the hall from? And since it would usually be seen from the sides, what do the sides look like? Are the insides of the doors so beautiful that it’s what you want to see as you walk down the hall?
