countertop cabinets in bathroom

Our vanity tops are going to be 5’by2’.
I am planning to have the single sink to one side. To maximize storage for skin care products etc is it better to stay under the cabinet or is it very useful to have full height cabinet?

I like a medicine cabinet and drawers in the vanity. Between the medicine cabinet and the top shallow drawer (18" wide) that has an organizer I have enough room for my stuff. Your mileage may vary. In my previous house I had a very wide double vanity, no medicine cabinets, but I had a 15" wide 12" deep cabinet (I don't remember now if it was 30 or 42" tall) on the counter in between the sinks (also had drawers) and that worked, too. I assume you're thinking of something similar to what is shown below?

A 60 inch vanity will hold only so much, successfully, no matter sink location. You' d be better off showing us what you are doing, is it just a new vanity in an existing bath? Show that bath and it's full existing condition!

Are you gutting a bath? Show the space and all of its dimensions in a drawing uploaded as a jpeg, all the feet and inches.

Nobody here has any idea your make up, how much toilet paper, the style you want in the bath....and you can forget about a laundry hamper in sixty inches and even towels will not store well in that space.

Show and tell what you are doing: ) You have nowhere near enough context to advise.

It sounds like you need a linen closet in that bathroom.

I love Ikea Godmorgon vanities the storage is awesome and so adapatable . I never like cabinets under a counter that are not drawers in a bathroom or kitchen. If you have space a nice tall linen cabinet can be a god send too but please not sitting on the counter . I do agree we need to see the space in a drwaing and you need to provide a list of who uses the space and what needs to be stored . I never have had a laundry basket in my bathroom but one in each bedroom is great. Post the to scale plan here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post

Without seeing the bedroom attached? You have room for more..

A small theft in the closet

Where i have linen? You have 12 - 18" of depth and 48inches in width..as you like. Leave 30 - 36 inch clearance in front of toilet.( code is 24.and a bit tight.)

LOTS of storage, tower and drawer and trash? Under the sink.

    Examples..........whatever your style

Laundry hamper in the closet, which should be DOUBLE HUNG....

You didn't ask this, but I find it very inconvenient to have to go through the bathroom to get to the closet. If someone else is using the bathroom, you have to wait for them to leave before you get your stuff.

Switch the closet door location to open to the bedroom instead.

As for your question, lose a bit of space in the WIC by moving the wall in by roughly 18", then put a tall linen cabinet between the vanity and the closet wall.

I agree about the closet access never through the bathroom and since this is all new do it right access to clset from bedroom. I see alot of wasted space in that bathroom so how about a corner cabinet by the shower maybe .or at least the actul measurements of the bathroom posted I see only the shower size .

We thought a lot about access to the closet. Our other bathrooms have access via the closet. Not the other way round. We dont want a door to the closet close to the bed. We still wanted to keep a door from the bath to the closet in case someone wants to dress. This will be our adult child’s bedroom. For now only one person will use it.
I was planning to keep a teak stool in one of the corners so one can sit and do a pedicure, etc
The bathroom is now framed. I will go check if a 12” tower can be placed in the second corner.
