Black tub, maple vanities and white counters - What floor?

I have a lovely black tub(white resin inside) and selected brown maple cabinets for our primary bathroom. The shower is sort of out of the main bathroom area but will also be black. I have been trying to select the flooring and having difficulty deciding whether to go with a light gray, dark gray, or something warm to pick up on the brown in the vanities. I would like to keep things clean and not get too busy with patterns.

I'd select a tile with a black accent. I might also consider Black Hardware and faucets for the room.

The tile you select can e used in a number of locations in a bathroom.

If you are concerned that an all-over pattern is too much for the room, consider a pattern inset in a solid field of tile.

I agree we need to know what you plan for the countertops. Consider a white tile with a fun pattern (not just a basic square/rectangle).

I was considering a white quartz. I’m so afraid of everything looking mismatched and super busy I’m hesitant. We had a rental and it had white floors and white grout and it was a chore. 😩

First decision is whether you want tub to be the star, but with vanity also being an important component.

Or…main focus on the tub and how, ie: subtle or dramatic.

IMO a black and white marble could be awesome . I like bathroom floors and ahower walls both 12 x24 tile usually porcelain but mayeb in your case the marbl I do not like busy tiles in bathooms they make any changes you might want down the road complicated . IMO that tub is the star and so everything else needs to work with it . You can get porcealin tile that looks like black and white marble. I will say I would not have done that cabinet with that tub but too late now .

Black is a very dominant color and your tub and shower might look mismatched with warm wood cabinets. Some of the other posters are suggesting a black and white color scheme. I'm tending in that direction as well.

It can be a chore to clean black bath fixtures, especially if they have a matte finish.

Yea, we had the oil rubbed bronze in our last home and had few issues. Hoping this is the same. The tub is matte and doesn’t show fingerprints, so I think we will be okay there.

A light gray floor could complement the black tub and shower while keeping things fresh and airy. It would also pair well with the brown maple cabinets without overwhelming the space. If you want a touch of warmth, a soft taupe or beige with minimal texture might be a good option to tie everything together. Keeping it simple and neutral will ensure the space feels calm and balanced.
