Any updated information on Bertazzoni 36" gas rangetops?

I've been perusing old threads about 36" gas rangetops, as we'll be custom building in 2026 and this is what I want. I came across some info on Bertazzoni but the threads are 8-10 years old. It seemed like most liked the rangetop or range portion of their stoves, but not the ovens. With this brand being from Italy, I'm curious about customer service and repairs. I was really drawn to the quality and the much lower price point. I'm looking for mid-range and it doesn't seem like there's many out there aside from Bosch and GE Cafe. Thanks for any guidance!

You might just get a range whose controls would also be on the front; of which there are many choices; wouldn't require its own cabinet; would contain an oven; and would be easier and less expensive to purchase, install, and replace when needed.

I have no experience with that manufacturer, but many times it is the retailer you buy it from that offers the customer service and repairs.

Bertazzoni is all about appearance, and much less about function and reliability. The oven capacity is tiny.

Rangetops aren't very popular and new product introductions are slow but even new rangetops may appear in the next year and a half. I wouldn't worry about this now as it's what you select in 2026 that will determine the cabinet you'll need and how you'll need to cut it up to fit the appliance.

There are other Italian brands, which may offer you the styling you are after but with better quality reviews (these are anecdotal, and I have no data on actual reliability for any of the Italian brands). With any brand, check your local area to be sure there are people who service any brand you end up purchasing before you actually purchase.

Since you're exploring options for your future purchase, now is the time to look at induction. Bosch and Miele have good feedback.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I've decided against induction as I'll be in an area that may have occasional and brief power outages. I currently cook on gas and both my husband and I enjoy it. I am definitely set on a rangetop after reading multiple posts about it, vs. a cooktop. I'll keep my eye out for new ones since we're not building until 2026. I had a chance to go to my local Ferguson's showroom and they actually had a number of them, but all in the very top tier brands. I'm not specifically looking for an Italian brand but want a brand that is known for reliability and good/easily accessible customer service. And a good price point!

We have brought and installed a Bertazzoni Speed oven SO24PROX on 5/23(installed months later) in our new remodel home. The first issue was the door that didn't close properly. Bertazzoni sent a technician to replace the door. Months later the appliance stopped working. No heat. I never used the multi functions. Just warming up the food/microwave function. The first time it happened, the technician took the appliance to the shop. Return it 3 weeks later.

The problem returned a few months ago. Just after the warranty expired.

Bertazzoni provided a list of companies names that could repair. I called one. Paid for the visit and he was unable to fix it. He claims to be the "motherboard." Everything appears to be working, except for no heat at all. How can it be the motherboard?

Browsing online the reviews related to this appliance, my problem is not unique. To get it fixed is very pricey and time consuming too. Difficulty or unable to get parts.

Online reviews, shows my problem not to be unique. Many customers had issues similar. Had it fixed. Months or a year later the issue occurred again...

The warranty runs out, and the customers are left in the cold with a new useless appliance. We want appliances that are reliable and lasting.

I strongly recommend that anyone buying a foreign appliance... Like Bertazzoni appliances, take a very good look at the reviews available and many sites, look at BBB accredited... It may change the choice and save a lot of frustration. I wished I had done my homework before I made the choice I made. I am still trying to get it fixed, I will post reviews... Bertazzoni appliances problems go beyond the US...
