Look for a white fixture that coordinates well with your pendant lights. If you know the brand and line of the pendants, start looking there. They may make a chandelier or two in that line.

Hard to tell from pictures, but is your table centered under the chandelier? It looks very tight next to the sideboard.

I would opt for an open linear light fixture with NO shade!

Whatever you do, make sure it's hung lower than the one you have now. The bottom of a chandelier over a table should be about 36" above the table.

Linear is a good suggestion -

Your dining table and benches look crowded in the space you have. There doesn't appear to be enough room between the bench and the adjacent cabinetry. That concerns me more than the choice of lighting fixture.

The table is very heavy in the space, so a light linear fixture might not be the answer for balance reasons. But a few things, one I would take out the plant in the corner, looks stuffed. I would probably take down the floating shelves, too busy. If the "room" was a bit more balanced. It also seems that the power source is not centered to the table, so you either need to move the box or use a fixture that allows to anchor at a second point.

@Norwood Architects it looks like less space in the picture, but theres enough room. We are using this table beczuse its only 30 inches wide, however i think its too narrow to sit at comfortably. I just dont have much room to work with. What would you suggest instead?

@RL Relocation LLC I have no problem changing the table. Do you think this would bring more balance? Im seeing mixed opinions on linear vs non linear lighting. Not sure what to go with. thanks for sending that picture, it does look good with linear

@Diana Bier Interiors, LLC thank you, yes i plan to lower it. Its 41 inches above the table right now. Its supposed to be between 30-36 inches from the table. My ceilings are only 7.6 ft so I will probably put it closer to 30 in

I agree with @Valinta - first thing would be making sure chandelier wire is perfectly aligned with the center of the table. Very important step!
Second - I don’t mind your current fixture as it’s in a good contrast/ harmony with the island pendants. I would strongly suggest you though to bring it down, so that it is closer to the table than to the ceiling - 3.5’ seems a good distance from table and lamp so you can talk and pass course dishes with the others gathered around the table. If you prefer to change the fixture altogether, I’d recommend no fabric - rather something simple to look at and easy to clean, as open kitchen surfaces can get greasy easily. Regarding the shape I’d go with a curved item, to differentiate it from the pendants over the island.

I would note that the light fixture outlet box seems off center, is it? I would change this table, it is heavy. I would probably opt round to break up all the squarness in this space and also allow for some room. Have you ever thougth about removing that strange builder cabinet? its hard to tell how much space there really is. maybe more pics.

Do you need the storage where the cabinet is? not sure if there is flooring underneath — a banquette there could be a nice solution

@la_la Girl Yeah, i put that bar/buffet in for more cabinet storage since the kitchen is on the smaller side

@RL Relocation LLC i like your idea with that chandelier and round table. It looks good! I will keep the buffet/bar, i had thar built as part of my kitchen cabinets, for more cabinet storage since its a rather small kitchen.
