Has anyone used stair-treads.com?

I need to replace stair treads in my home.

Looking for a resource for white oak stair treads to most closely resemble prefinished french oak flooring. The treads will NEED to be finished onsite (cannot purchase pre-finished due to several technicalities with install and onsite modifications) so I am looking for unfinished, no return white oak stair treads.

Prices seem to be all over the place and often the products at big box stores get terrible reviews (chips, poorly matched wood etc.)

Looking for full thickness, solid wood (not veneer retreads).

stair-treads.com seems to have good prices and availability. Anyone use them before? Anyone have any other affordable suggestions for treads?

Too good to be true. Go to a local lumber yard. They can order decent quality, and be a point of contact.

I have already called local lumber yards.

I need 36" (5), 54"(9) and 60"(1) treads.

The local lumber yard can only get 36" and 60". 60" treads are significantly more than even 54". So I would be paying over $100 for each 60" tread, unfinished and be throwing away 9" off each piece. Thus I am looking for other resources.

If you haven't used stair-treads.com, no worries. I get it. Buy local when you can. In my case, not really a great value and frankly not many local options except big box.

I haven’t used them, but it is unfinished stair treads...iIt’s kind of hard to mess up. Their prices are decent but not so decent that I would worry.

If you are worried call them and ask for a short tread sample before you ship the bigger treads.
