Was the vanity already installed? Does the GC/builder have the plans showing the dimensions of the vanity/mirror? It seems like they were put in a ridiculous place.

During the renovation of my primary bathroom, the original contractor ignored my texts + our discussions re: that I was having three sconces installed with two separate mirrors. So, he installed the junction box for one light fixture over each mirror (he had the exact dimensions of the mirrors + I gave him the exact locations where I wanted them installed).

We wound up parting ways with that contractor, and the licensed electrician we personally hired came over to move the boxes + add a third box (he had done several other projects for us) - the cost to move the boxes wasn't very expensive at all. I had it all drawn out on graph paper - and showed it to him that morning. I left the paper upstairs.

He installed three - but again installed them at the wrong height (I provided the exact height for them) - he had to redo them before he left that day. He wasn't upset with me - he said, "I should have known that your numbers for spacing and height were exactly correct after seeing your detailed drawing of the vanity wall!"

Thank you so much! Honestly I’m not sure what happened. My hunch is the dimensions of the vanity made by our Amish cabinetmaker was not communicated by our GC to the electrician. Kind of frustrating because our GC wants to handle the communications with the subcontractors but has too many other projects. Okay I’ll ask the electrician to move them. Thank you!

Are you just going to something plain and white bread or do you want to step up the design and do something more creative???

That squat mirror is not a good look for your room IMO.

Here are some ideas.

Have them moved. Helpful to try to figure out what happened to know whose dime it's on, but definitely move them. I'm trying to imagine plugging something into the outlet on the right and then using it right over the sink...! In an ideal world I'd move both of them but probably fine/cheaper to just move the ones on the right and call it good enough. I do really like the look of the sconces on the side of the mirror vs. on the top, though, if you want to go all in on changes.

All the electrical seems off so get them in now to fix BTW I much prefer bath bar type lighting too.

They have pretty bar lights now. This one is 27" and comes in different finishes. Use the right elec. box and wall over the left one.

The outlet over the sink needs to be futher to the right.
