guest bathroom needs help

We just redid this bathroom and it looks rather blah to me. Any suggestions for towels and artwork to complement what we have?

I think this room would go from ho-hum to spectacular if you painted the walls a saturated color. The flooring is so visually strong that it pulls your attention downwards and everything else just fades away. The wall color is especially washed out. Would you consider painting it a different color or are you only looking for simple decorative touches now?

A framed pic above the toilet makes sense. Hard to pic art for someone else. What are you drawn to? I'd go for bold to raise your eyes up from the floor.

Lisedv, What color blue is that on the walls? It’s beautiful.

It's very difficult to be accurate with colours on our monitors as they vary from one monitor to the other. I was actually trying to match one of the dark grays (charcoal) in the floor tiles.

Lisedv, the floor is emparador dark marble which is brown. The white portion is dolomite. The shower is also dolomite. The countertop is a marble remnant.
I see the imbalance you all are talking about with the floor tile being dominant. I’m not sure my husband will go for painting the walls. Sigh.

Then you go with a dark brown from the tile, the look with be the same as above...

Bring some paint samples to look at with your tiles in the room and test on a large cardboard or foam core giving it 2 coats.

I actually really like the charcoal with the brown. Finding a color that compliments but isn't a match looks a bit more sophisticated in this space. And I just gotta say it - brown - it's a bathroom. Not a color you want to over do in a bathroom.

Beautiful room! I would start with getting the art over the toilet. Something you love that compliments the space. Then you’ll know if you’d want to revisit the wall color.

Nice renovation! I’m also a fan of a darker color here. I hate to pick but I’m questioning the scale of those sconces. Is it the angle of the photo? They look too big.

Thinkdesignlive, good eye! Yes, they are too big. We want to replace them but Reno weariness is still upon us. It’s so disappointing especially after we used a trusted designer. We will get around to it.

I think a charcoal/brown is something that could work otherwise (if it's too gray) it might clash with your flooring tiles. The best thing is to test as explained above before painting the walls. Here are a few charcoal browns, test and you might be surprised by the outcome!

Or maybe one of these dark colours, the only way to know is to look at them in your room and test:

IMO a lot goiung on so not blah at all . The choices of tile were odd so now IMO you choose the color of the floor tile for towels and add maybe a piece of art with a bit of blue in it.

Any art suggestions, Patricia? Or specific towel suggestions?
I would like to “rescue” this bathroom with a minimum of fuss.

Start with art that you love, or a framed poster…and go from there. Choose a color from the art for accent towels. Beautiful room! Great bones. Good job!
