I did not. I didn't want shiny on the walls because as good as the are they are not perfect, and it's hard to get a good, non flat or non eggshell finish on walls. But I am pretty picky because all of my room doors, which are slab, were painted in the the same shop that painted my cabinets. So I have flat on the walls and satin on the woodwork. And the do look like they are very slightly different colors depending on how light hits them and the time of day and so forth, which doesn't actually bother me that much.

We did eggshell on the walls and semi-gloss on trim. I like it!

Either way works.

I love flat on everything, but only if you have a paint that can clean well enough on high traffic trim areas.

I have also used flat on walls and just ones sheen up from flat on trim.

My bookcases I have done the same flat as on the wall and regret having the interiors flat. There are marks from heavy books being taken in and out of the cases. It would be easy to clean them if they had some sheen.

I like flat on ceilings, eggshell (or matte) on walls, and satin or semi gloss on trim.

Agree - beautiful room! Note there is an actual color scheme used - unlike so many rooms we see here were colors seem to be chosen in a more random, piecemeal fashion. Blue main color, yellow-gold secondary, red accent = primary colors. Love it!

Color drenching does work very well with different sheens. However, we have our own thoughts. The very first time I saw, in person, color drenching, was in a beautiful home owned by Brits. They were not shy about color at all and each room was a different color, perfectly coordinated. Of course, furniture, art and rugs were beyond fabulous, yet the color drenched rooms did not detract from them at all.
