Doubtful, I'd start new seed now and plan better in the future.

You could bury them deeply, and use all of that stem for root. No sense in keeping them going like they are.

Dan that is what I was thinking. I did start some new seeds, I suspect burying the stem would work but no worth chancing it.

They would grow better if you re-started them in a fine seed starter mix, it looks like you used regular "chunky" potting soil?

I seriously hope you are joking, but why not see if you can get a couple to grow repotted for an experiment. I would have never guessed those were tomatoes.

Why so much wood in the soil? What do you use? Growing tomato seeds, you might leave space in the cup to fill in more soil as it grows, since it can root along the stem.

robert that is what I am doing. Yers ago I had a plastic sheet to kill weeds that moved slightly and covered some corn that sprouted, all white/yellow for 1-2 days with no sun, they did fine. This time I am more concerned about the long stems, support and obviously lots of energy went into them instead of first leaves. I started new seeds and I am only set back a week.

FYI I planted new seed. These are still alive but slow growing. New seeds I planted already surpassed them.
