You really need to post photos of your home in order for people to suggest what would look better + function well for your new steps.

Without a photo - I LOVE bluestone - but I don't know what your house looks like. . .

I'd choose granite is budget allows. Both durable, but what looks best with your home?

Where I am it would be bluestone, since it grows wild around here. Granite can easily look out of place. In eastern Massachusetts it may well be the opposite.

The granite will require a flame finish to prevent slipping.

Sorry all these are the current steps which as you can see are falling apart.

You could hire a stone mason to relay the bricks. This would probably save money and landfill space--it might also integrate better with your house.

Yes but think I should upgrade from the brick as I might have to rebuild the stairs anyway.

Do you have a photo showing the entire exterior of your home? I think we need to see the color/style of your house.

So we see what you are swapping out but we still have no idea what would look best. We need a pic now of your home from the street, from half way up the walk. I also would ask around. Why do you feel new options are 'more high end' than what you have from the eye of the casual passerby? Change for change is fine just say that.

I am waiting for the pics please posted here in a comment DO NOT start another post . Front steps are decided witht ewhole exterior of the home taken into consideration . So no pics no help really.
