Char, I’m so sorry to say that the Porthole was closed for the season just before Easter. My sis snd her partner are arriving back home in the States tomorrow. They will reopen about mid-November. I’m sorry that their timing and yours didn’t coincide. ”Island time,” you know. I’m happy that you and your sis are on the water and underway again. Safe sailing!

Oh well! I hope they had a safe journey! We will have to try some other restaurants! We were going to try to get up to Martinique, but we will have to see if weather permits.

Just an update on journey...

We spent 6 days in Bequia. The snorkeling there is really great! The had a short sail up to Chateaubelair, Saint Vincent, then left very early for Martinique. We spent one night in Grand Anse and arrived yesterday morning in Saint Pierre. I was looking for a fabric shop there, but not sure there is one...language barrier. We will walk in town today and look around. Have to use Google translate because none of us speak French!

Nice, Char! We visited Martinique many years ago as a cruise port. They must not accept cruise ships (at least the larger ones) any more because I haven’t seen it in a cruise itinerary in a long time.

I haven't seen any cruise ships at all, but it's getting late in the season too. We are more north in Saint Pierre and the main inlet at Fort de France is where the large, industrial docks are. Smaller companies may service the island, but im not sure. It's an absolutely gorgeous island to visit tho!
