We are in the early stages of a full kitchen remodel. Our designer sent us out to a local showroom to select appliances. Everything will be fully integrated with cabinetry panels, except for the obvious ones: double wall ovens, microwave drawer and induction cooktop. The kitchen will be contemporary in style with black, walnut and possibly white cabinetry. Perimeter countertop will probably be some variation of white quartz. Induction cooktop will be on the perimeter counter which is the same wall as the double ovens. The microwave drawer will in the island and not very visible.

I am leaning towards the 36” Thermador Freedom induction cooktop, but my concern is that it is more of a silvery gray color. The wall ovens I had selected are very black with minimal stainless, Monogram Minimalist. The cabinetry surrounding the double oven will likely be black so the wall ovens will blend in.

Do you think it will look off to have a silvery gray cooktop a few feet away from the black double ovens? Or will it look okay because it’s a different plane and the gray cooktop will be set into a white counter?

This is a luxury home with multiple sub zero columns, two dishwashers and a wet bar with multiple wine and beverage fridges along with undercounted ice maker. I don’t want the kitchen to look mismatched or like we are going with different brands to be cheap. I could do the Thermador double wall ovens which would match in color to the cooktop, but I fear they may stick out visually with the surrounding black cabinetry as they are much more gray in appearance.
