How high can medicine cabinet go?

I puchased bathroom faucet without thinking about the medicine cabinet. The faucet max height is almost 11” from the vanity top (34” high). If I hang the medicine cabinet above that, let’s say 3 inches that gets me to a height iof 48” for the bottom of the med cabinet. not sure what to do.

Added info:

ceilings are 9’ (108”)

Max person heigh is 6’2”

I did that before, when I was a newbie with medicine cabinets! I went out and bought a new faucet, which was the best solution.

When I built our current house I didn't leave any measurement to chance!

Faucet 6.5" high. Bottom of medicine cabinet door at 7.5" from counter.

Medicine cabs are 24" x 48"

Consider your own height too. I'm very short, and I HATE staying at my in-laws' house, where the medicine cabinet doesn't allow me a full view of my face. I stand on my toes to do my hair.

If necessary, switch out the faucet or the medicine cabinet -- don't be in such a hurry to install these things that you make a substandard choice.

At 14” above the counter can you see yoiurdself? is it hard to reach the cabinet shelves?

My next bathroom will have mirrors no higher than I can reach with a bottle of Sparkle and a cloth, without climbing on the countertop.

IMO you don't have to allow 3" from the top of the faucet to the bottom of the medicine cabinet. It can be just high enough to clear the faucet - more like one half inch to one inch. But that is a very high faucet and maybe it's just not going to work in a bath where you want medicine cabinets.

I have similarly shaped faucets in my primary bath, but they are only 9" high. The medicine cabinet clears the faucet by less than an inch. The cabinet doors are 33" tall. I can reach the top shelf inside and can clean the mirror without having to get on the counter, but I am on the tall side of average height.

When you are framing the niches for the cabinets, keep in mind that the door will extend below the bottom of the niche. You need to have the cabinets and faucets on hand when you're calculating the placement. You can't always rely on contractors to do it right either, so keep an eye on what they're doing to avoid wasting time with rework.
