Such a cute swap idea. I would love to join.

Any seeds are good for me. And any "little something" will be good.

I do love a good Go To recipe.

I will be joining in on the swap too. I could use any vegetable seeds for the summer and fall garden.

To all June swappers, we will be having a fun, storyline bingo game! Please send in your bingo words by June 6th.

I spotted two bugs on my sweet alyssum porch plant. Internet says they are Texas stinkbugs? First time I have seen them here in my garden. They are a bit far from home! 😂

    Just sent my bingo words.

We get stink bugs here, but they don't look like that. I haven't seen any this year yet.

Yesterday I harvested my first seeds this year. Double pink peony poppy, single pink poppy, purple/blue larkspur, Queen Anne's Lace and white/pink bachelor button. All of these reseed for me. I think I'll have some crazy daisy seeds soon. It's my first year growing these and I love them. For some reason I have trouble growing daisy.

I've had a few ripe tomatoes and strawberries this week.

Lots of daylily blooms and last iris of the year I think, blooming now.

Sharon, I was just reading about this bug on FB. It looks like your stink bug.

Harlequin bugs are a type of stink bug. They have a similar shape and size as other stink bugs and produce odors as a defense mechanism against predators. Harlequin bugs are invasive pests in North America. They can be differentiated by their black and bright red or orange pattern and rounded body shape.

They are significant pests of crucifers like cabbage, broccoli, and mustard feeding greedily on the nutritious juices inside the leaves of these plants. When crucifers are unavailable, you may find harlequin bugs sucking the life out of your squash, beans, corn, asparagus, okra, or tomatoes.

    Hope this info helps.

Sharon, thank you so much for getting this started for June. I hope after this month things will be a little easier on me here. We expect to get the remainder of the things out of my house on Thursday - well, with the exception of some books that are on a built in bookcase there. I am having one built here and will move them after that. I think the hot weather might be here to stay now and my AC at the new place isn't working right. It sure doesn't help on trying to keep you motivated. They keep coming to check it and the temperature doesn't go below 74 which is okay to just sit around but not okay for me with moving boxes and trying to get things reorganized.

Next some work will be done on the house (painting, carpets and things like that) and the house will finally get listed. It's a wonderful house and I hope the person who buys it will love it. I was only living there for less than 4 years but added many things to the garden and they are doing well so I enjoy seeing them each time I drive to the house.

My balcony plants are doing well. I shopped for shady plants since there was no sun on the balcony during the winter. Spring made all the difference - now I have sun there for the first half of the day and it super hot there with the stone and concrete. There's not a lot of room for plants though so I suspect I will only get to add a few more. Haven't had any time to sit out there so I just see the plants when I water or repot them. Hoping one day to get one of the raised garden beds that they assign to residents. They are growing beautifully. They must have put the perfect soil in them. When I walk my dog, some times we go to admire those plants.

My balcony looking out from the back door. Very dirty from pollen and repotting. They are coming to wash the balconies tomorrow.

Notice the plant on the chair. For the past 2 winters it was small and I kept in indoors until it got warm enough. It has tried to take over the world now that it's outdoors and it really likes the amount of sun it's getting. The only herb I have right now is mint. Hope to add some more once I get a chance. They will likely enjoy a place with morning sun.

Oh, and I will be mailing out the prize for May this week. Did anyone get to watch the Belmont Stakes? I recorded it and It was a great race.

Junebug (Sharon) thank you for inviting us to the garden party, of the three drink choices: sparkling lemonade, berry fruit punch and strawberry tea. All three sounds tasty and if I had to choose my first choice, it would be sparkling lemonade then if I went for seconds/thirds, I would get berry fruit punch and then strawberry tea so I can try these drinks.

Bingo generator didn't choose one of my words yet but hopefully soon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!

Sparkling Lemonade sounds good to me.....thank you very much!!

    Happy Sunday!!

I love lemonade so, Sparkling Lemonade for me please.

    Chick-fil-A has the best lemonade

    . I buy a gallon there a few times a year.

I haven't seen many bugs yet except for the good kind. Seem like every year I get whiteflies and I so hate those. We do have beaucoup mosquitos already. One day last week I saw a beautiful red/orange dragonfly. I'm seeing some dragonflies and some butterflies.

But where are the the hummingbirds this year? I've only seen them a few times which is very unusual. Usually they show up in April and are around until fall.

Jeanne, good that your almost finished with your moving.

How did your on-line sale go?

I've bid on a few items with a local estate sale company. When I win the bid, the company gives me the time and place to pick up.

Your chair plant looks like one I've had before called Basket Plants (Callisia Fragrans). I love it but it has to be brought inside for winter and I don't have space for it. Someone almost always brings some to the plant swap and I will get it anyway.

    a small harvest yesterday

    Big Bird's Friend daylily

    Happy Sunday y'all

    Basket Plants (Callisia Fragrans)

That's the name of it, Ruth! Couldn't think of it when I posted. I doubt I will overwinter it this year. Not much space for doing that and it takes up so much space I will likely want something smaller and with blossoms for the balcony next year. The marigolds and gaura I have out there were bought as plants a few weeks ago and seem happy with the conditions. The other "viney" plant is Snow-N-Summer Jasmine. It didn't do much at my house because it was in lots of shade. I actually have two of them. Here they are getting the white and pink coloring on the leaves and they seem easy to grow and may last outside over the winter.

For at the house I had a journal where I recorded what I planted and when. It gave all the details about the plants. I know I moved it but haven't found what box it's in. My indoor plants are mostly Christmas/Easter/Thanksgiving cacti. They are growing with the various type of lights in the apartment and what daylight travels in through the windows. I also have a Peace Lily that grows in the bathroom with hardly any light - just gets light when I have the light on in there - some African Violets and an Aloe Vera. Haven't had a chance to sow any seeds this year, the few cuttings I tried to root didn't get roots and I haven't set up my Aerograden yet. That's it for my plant report!

Jeanne, so good to hear from you! Happy to hear you are almost done with the house. Thanks for sharing the pics with us!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. It's been high heat and humidity for us lately. I try not to go outside during the hottest part of the day if I can avoid it. Suppose to be getting some rain soon. Looking forward to it!

I found a caterpillar out in the yard this morning. Luckily it was just chewing on a weed plant lol

No chocolate covered strawberries here Lol. Hubby wanted fried chicken wings, chicken tenders and baked chicken for Father's day! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

    What a fun Junebug party.

No chocolate strawberries here, or cooking of any kind. Hubby and I ate at Cold Beer and Cheeseburgers. Free entree for dad's today.

Got my card yesterday. Thank you for the seeds and recipe. I have never made cucumber pickles, and this recipe sounds so simple. I love just being able to put them in the fridge with no canning and sealing jars. I realized last year that my Water Bath Canning Pot doesn't work with my stove.

I didn't grow cucumbers this year but I can buy some at the farmers market. Does it matter what kind, and have you ever tried adding a pepper or two to the jar?

I used to can watermelon rind pickles, but it took days and I hated peeling the watermelon rind.

Flowers have been awesome, but with all the rain we've had the weeds are taking over.

Happy you got my envie Ruth! 🥳👍 I agree with you that the quick pickles recipe is simple and love that it involves no canning. We just finished off a jar! I was able to make some more and just put them towards the back of the frig on the bottom shelf so it's not in the way. We are growing two different kinds of cucumbers this year, the Muncher cucumbers being my favorite for the pickles and for use in salads. Store bought cucumbers works great too, any kind is fine. You can add peppers to it, and also crushed garlic cloves if you like that. Here's my pic of some of the jars I made. We have five jars total so far.

I have never pickled watermelon rinds yet, but do want to try it one day. Love the photos! 🥰

The watermelon rind pickles I used to make was a recipe from Southern Living. Took about 3 days of cooking, changing out water and keeping in fridge. They were very very sweet. My daughter loved them.

Ruth, what vine bean are you growing? The flower is very pretty. I planted some scarlet runner beans in the spring and it had started making pretty red flowers. Once the heat started though, it stopped making flowers. It's still there but not doing much. Hoping maybe it will last until summer and maybe start up again in the fall. My first time growing so I don't know.

Annie and Nicole, are you growing anything in your garden right now?

We purchased a hanging pot with petunias for the front porch a few weeks ago. To my surprise it started producing seeds so I saved a few for a later planting.

Thank you Ruth and Annie for sending our your envies! Nicole, please let us know if you were able to send out, thanks! 😃👍

I'm sorry. The prize from last month hasn't been mailed yet. It was so tiring trying to finish up with my move from my house and I have been napping and napping and sore everywhere, but glad to have that step completed. If I remember right, I signed up to be hostess in July and I should be able to manage it. Will be sure to stop in again this month, too.

I have all kinds of stuff growing in my veg garden.....tomatoes, pumpkins, peppers, cucumbers, onion, herbs etc.....

I did not plant lots of flowers this year. My yard is in a confused state and well, I just had to much stuff that had to be done. I am in the process of having my patio deck and pool redone.....kind of a big job. They started at the end of April and said it would probably take 2 months. I think they are moving along just fine but they will not be done by the end of the month...that is OK. I do miss swimming in the pool, especially when it is on the hot side.

Actually, I have planted several different sunflower varieties...we will see if they come to be.

I do have lots of bees buzzing around, which I love. Yes, they have kissed me a few times....LOL!

    Happy day!!

Not many words for my bingo yet. Hope everyone is doing well.

My garden is doin ok, i see more caterpillars this year and its nice to see them form to monarchs. Last year, I didn't see many. But this year, i have seen about four. My sunflowers are doing well but Wally the squirrel and friend thinks its nice to take the sunflower heads off. I even have a bird feeder they can indulge but I guess its not enough so they want a buffet of my sunflowers :(

Take care everyone and make the most of each day!!
