I am working to elevate the entry to our house. It's awkward because we have no mudroom or foyer of any kind - you open the door and you are immediately greeted with the staircase. I have been painting the staircase to make it brighter and more welcoming, but the other area in the "entry" that we are struggling with is the space to the left of the door which is currently where our coats and shoes go. It makes for a cluttered mess. I am not sure a traditional "hall tree" would help much here. I am looking for something attractive and that cuts down on the visual clutter while still being functional. Thoughts?
