Not necessarily, sometimes you happen to be at the right place at the right time.

I just had my driveway replaced by a guy who knocked on my door - they were "doing another house in the neighborhood" and had enough macadam to do mine. He gave me a price, ensured me it was a discounted price. I accepted his offer, then, before they did any work I checked the price compared with a neighbor who recently had their driveway replaced. Was about $1000 less. Then I checked them out online - real company - has a website, in business for more than 10 years, good ratings, no issues with the bbb. . . When he came back I let them go ahead with the work. If my research had come up with different answers I would have stopped them before they started.

Someone order the door incorrectly (size, color, specs most likely), dealer just wanted it out of his warehouse and gave it to a good customer. Sounds like a win win for you if you can use it. Mistakes happen, been in the business 40 years and have seen it many times over.

Do you need the unique size or do you now need to reconfigure the opening . If the door fits your opening as is IMO a win win . Not sure what your issue is.
