You can definitely use bigger lights at the front door. Visit a local lighting showroom, preferably an independently owned one. Some will even let you borrow a floor display to test in your own space.

I hope the replacement arched window in the foyer is being replace with one much larger because that skinny little window doesn't work with your house.

If the window stays small, then you at the very least have to mount the shutters the correct way. Yours are up backwareds.

I would select a fixture where you cannot see the bulb. They are ofen not atrtactive and create glare.
